Lesson Learned

For one reason or another I have always chosen to take the difficult road instead of the simple one. I've got a taste for trouble and I'm never satisfied. I’ve known defeat, I’ve known struggle, but I have found my way out. I will never regret the path I had once wondered down. It taught me a deeper understanding of life. It filled me with compassion for the people around me. There is always a light at the end of even the darkest of tunnels.

LESSON LEARNED.

On a lighter note, I've been trying to get my life back on track and just surround myself with positive people and those that are truely there for me.

"Much of what bother us are things that, in reality, are temporary in nature, and like a rainstorm, their presence merely make our surroundings seem bleak for a time.

But in keeping with the nature of an intense rain, intense adversity cannot last indefinitely, and with its passing comes the benediction of the sun, which restores the natural balance of life. Both harmony and adversity are required for spiritual growth just as both rain and sunlight are required for biological growth.

Problems and solutions are complimentaries to one another, just as the sun compliments the rain to complete the growth cycle. Problems and solutions. Yin/Yang. Mutually dependent and the way all of all things.

It's just a case of learning to look at hardship as if today the rain is coming strong, but tomorrow, the sun is going to come out again."

Love vs. Infatuation

Infatuation is instant desire - one set of glands calling to another.

Love is friendship that has caught fire. It takes root and grows, one day at a time.

Infatuation is marked by a feeling of insecurity. You are excited and eager, but not genuinely happy. There are nagging doubts, unanswered questions, little bits and pieces about your beloved that you would just as soon not examine too closely. It might spoil the dream.

Love is the quiet understanding and mature acceptance of imperfection. It is real. It gives you strength and grows beyond you - to bolster your beloved. You are warmed by their presence, even when they are away. Miles do not separate you. You have so many wonderful little films in your head that you keep replaying. But near or far, you know they are yours, and you can wait.

Infatuation says, "We must get married right away. I can't risk losing them."

Love says, "Be patient. Don't panic. Plan your future with confidence."

Infatuation has an element of sexual excitement. Whenever you are together, you hope it will end in intimacy.

Love is not based on sex. It is the maturation of friendship, which makes sex so much sweeter. You must be friends before you can be lovers.

Infatuation lacks confidence. When they're away, you wonder if they're cheating. Sometimes, you check.

Love means trust. You are calm, secure and unthreatened. They feel your trust, and it makes them even more trustworthy.

Infatuation might lead you to do things you will regret, but love never steers you in the wrong direction.

Love is an upper. It makes you feel whole. It completes the circle. It fills the empty space in your heart. Love is elevating. It lifts you up. It makes you look up. It makes you think up. It makes you a better person than you were before. If you have love in your life, it can make up for a great many things you don't have. If there is no love in your life, whatever else there is has a lot less meaning. The secret of our being is not only to live but to have something to live for.

Taking A Chance...

I have learned my lesson after dating Michael. I gave my all to that man, too quickly. I opened up my life to him and I felt like everything was crashing down on me all at once. It was obvious to the both of us that we lead very different lifestyles and that it had to end.
I want to surround myself with those that will influence me positively in life because I had to learn the hard way that in the end all you have is yourself and your family. I stay loyal, loving and supportive to those that have treated me right. I'll admit, after Michael, I have become more open-minded and I consider how others feel... i guess you can say i let my guard down and my sensitive side came out. haha.
I'm not going to waste my time on any guy that is not worth it for the long run. I have gone through too much and I just want to be happy. well, there ya go... me ranting about my random thoughts for the night. haha.
goodnight world!

if it's meant to be

"Sometimes we're so focused on our happy ending that we don't learn how to read the signs. how to tell who want us from the ones who don't. the ones who'll stay or the ones who'll leave. Maybe this happy ending doesn't include a wonderful guy, maybe its you... on your own. Picking up the pieces and starting over. setting yourself up for something better for the future. Maybe the happy ending is moving on. or maybe the happy ending is good. Through all the broken hearts and misread signals you never gave up hope."

:) after watching "He's just not that into you", it has me second guessing my relationship with mike. i must let it go to move on with my life and find myself again. i dont want to say goodbye, but i think i need to stop pretending its something it is not. it hurts too much to be in a forbidden relationship like this. i had my moment of bliss, but im emotionally drained. i need to take control of my life.

Einstein in Life & Love

Sometimes in our relentless effort to find the person we love, we fail to recognize and appreciate the people who love us. We miss out on so many beautiful things simply because we allow ourselves to be enslaved by our own selfish concerns. Go for the man of deeds and not for the man of words, for you will find rewarding happiness, not with the man you love but with the man who loves you more.

The best lovers are those capable of loving from a distance far enough to allow the person to grow but never too far to feel the love within your being.

To let go of someone doesn't mean you have to stop loving, it only means that you allow that person to find his own happiness without expecting him to come back. Letting go is not just setting the other person free, but is also setting yourself free from all the bitterness, hatred, and anger that you keep in your heart. Do not let the bitterness take away your strength and weaken your faith, and never allow pain to dishearten you; but rather let yourself grow with wisdom in bearing it.

You may find peace in loving someone from a distance not expecting something in return. But be careful, for this can sustain life but can never give enough room for us to grow. We can all survive with just beautiful memories of the past, but real peace and happiness come only with open acceptance of what reality is today.

There comes a time in our lives when we chance upon someone so nice and beautiful and we just find ourselves so intensely attracted to that person. This feeling soon becomes a part of our everyday lives and eventually consumes our thoughts and actions. The sad part of it is when we begin to realize that this person feels nothing more for us than just a friendship.

We start our desperate attempt to get noticed and be closer, but in the end our efforts are still unrewarded and we end up being sorry for ourselves.

You don't have to forget someone you love. What you need to learn is how to accept the verdict of reality without being bitter or sorry for yourself. Believe me, you would be better off giving that dedication and love to someone more deserving.

Don't let your heart run your life, be sensible and let your mind speak for itself.

Listen not only to your feelings but to reason as well. Always remember that if you lose someone today, it means that someone better is coming tomorrow. If you lose love that doesn't mean you failed in love.

Cry if you have to, but make sure that tears wash away the hurt and the bitterness that the past has left with you. Let go of yesterday and love will find its way back to you. And when it does, pray that it may be the love that will stay and last a lifetime.

There are two ways to live your life:
One is as though nothing is a miracle.
The other is as though everything is a miracle.

There is no mistake so painful that love cannot forgive. no past so bitter that love cannot accept.

And no love so little that we cannot start all over with
